Itunes causing windows problems MSVCR80.dll missing
Apple have released an update to Itunes (version 11.1.14) which some Windows users are having problems with some reporting the file MSVCR80.dll missing and other registry errors, his causes windows not to load.
To prevent this from happening you can just miss this update until it has been fixed or you can uninstall the following:[ordered_list style=”decimal”]
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Apple Application Support
Please not this is Apples recommended uninstall order and doing it in any other order might not work properly. Now you need to reboot your computer.
Once you have logged back in you will need to check that all associated folders have been removed,[ordered_list style=”decimal”]
- C:Program FilesBonjour
- C:Program FilesCommon FilesApple
- C:Program FilesiTunes
- C:Program FilesiPod
Please do not delete your Itunes folder in your music library or where ever you store your music.
Now you can reinsinstall Itunes by downloading it from Apples website then right click on the file and run as Administrator.
If this has already happened to you, then you might need to boot to safe mode and follow the instructions above.
To boot Windows xp, Vista and windows 7 to Safe mode follow these instructions.
To boot windows 8/8.1 to safe mode please follow these instructions.
Sadly these do not always work and you might need to reinstall windows.
